                             iii.     When we look at God as our source, it frees us up to love the world around us.  Why? (1 Thess. 3:12)
                             iv.     Read the verses below and discuss what it says about your relationship with God:
Why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home?
When Jesus is my portion, a constant Friend is He,
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.

Let not your heart be troubled; these tender words I hear;
And resting on his goodness I lose my doubts and fears;
For by the path He leadeth but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted; whenever clouds arise;
When songs give place to sighing; when hope within me dies;
I draw the closer to Him; from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.

b.    IF we trust God with all our hearts THEN we will honour Him with our wealth.                                                          Discuss in light of Proverbs 3:9-10:

"Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
    and your vats will brim over with new wine."
                           i.     Read Malachi 3:8-10:
“Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
                                                       “In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me.                                                                                                     Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,”                                                                                                            says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out                                                      so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

                          ii.     Where does everything you have come from?  See Romans 11:33-36:
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
    How unsearchable his judgments,
    and his paths beyond tracing out!
“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
    Or who has been his counselor?”
“Who has ever given to God,
    that God should repay them?”
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
    To him be the glory forever! Amen.

                        iii.     According to Malachi 3, how do we lift the curse on our finances?  Discuss in light of Pastor Mike’s                                                                                      comment…..God doesn’t need your cash…but YOU need HIS blessing.

             c.     If we trust God with all our hearts THEN we will be humble.  Discuss in light of Proverbs 3:7-8;11-12:

"Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not resent his rebuke,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
    as a father the son he delights in."

                     i.     John Wooden said “Its what you learn after you know it all that counts”.  Discuss.
